Vaatalya — Cinematic Site for a Mountain Retreat
An invite-only mountain retreat in Himachal Pradesh, presented as a cinematic scroll — landscape photography and generous whitespace selling stillness rather than amenities.
The work
Vaatalya is an invite-only retreat roughly 100km from Chandigarh, built around sustainable living, wellness and isolation in nature. The site's job is to sell the absence of things: no crowds, no noise, no itinerary.
The design answers that with restraint — panoramic golden-hour photography, an earthy muted palette, and enough whitespace that the page itself feels unhurried. The philosophy section states the contrast plainly, against 'crowds & noise'.
Because access is invite-only, the conversion path is a six-step journey rather than a booking button: invite request, WhatsApp verification, a call, then booking. Experience types — Quietecations, wellness workshops, naturalist and astronomy retreats — are presented as distinct formats.
